THE PERFORMERS

CLARE GRIFFEL's singing teachers have included Mollie Petrie, with whom she obtained her LTCL Performer's Diploma, and Freda Hart with whom she currently studies. She specialises in the pre-classical repertoire, and has sung in master classes on this subject with, among others, John Carol Case, Robert Spencer, Judith Nelson and Nigel Rogers. She is voice tutor to the NORVIS Summer School at Durham University, and regularly leads workshops in early singing for various organisations. She has appeared on BBC2 television, and has on two occasions given solo recitals of medieval songs at the Utrecht Early Music Festival; other recital venues have included Israel and Paris.

HEATHER GIBBARD studied baroque cello with Susan Sheppard, and performs both as soloist and
continuo player. She also plays viola da gamba and baryton. In addition to her work with Musica Mundi, Heather performs with the ensemble Rosafresca. Her cello was restored to a baroque model by John Pringle, and her 7-string bass viol was made by Robert Eyland.

DAVID GRIFFEL has studied the harpsichord with Kenneth Mobbs and Robert Woolley, and the clavichord with Paul Simmonds. He has appeared widely as soloist and ensemble player, and has worked in master classes with Trevor Pinnock, Ton Koopman and Colin Tilney. He plays a harpsichord by Andrew Garlick, a virginals by Lionel Gliori, and a clavichords by Peter Bavington and Karin Richter.
