Musica Mundi  uses instruments and performing styles based on those of the Baroque and earlier periods, in order to communicate this exciting music to audiences as vividly as possible.  We specialise mainly in music from the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries, but with an interest also in contemporary writing for early instruments.

We have given well-received recitals at the Edinburgh and Utrecht Festival Fringes; other engagements have included recitals for the National Trust, Exeter, Warwick and Bristol Universities, the Early Music Centre in London, the St. George’s Music Trust at St. George’s, Brandon Hill, Bristol, and many music societies and organisations.

Musica Mundi takes considerable care over the planning of its programmes, aiming at a variety of vocal and instrumental music, while giving each programme a satisfying overall shape. Programmes can be tailored to the interests of a particular audience if desired.

Lecture-recitals can also be arranged. Members of the group have considerable professional lecturing experience, and the recital can, if desired, be interwoven with description and discussion of the instruments and the music.
